19th C. Staffordshire for Table, Wall, Shelf Cabinet

When buying antique and vintage decorative porcelain pottery earthenware or ironstone to decorate with, look for items with high impact, interesting even fun designs applied by the low tech transfer method at the pottery within England, many also in the Staffordshire ceramic excellence District. Superb design quality was created with abandon during the Late Victorian Aesthetic Design period, 1870-1900, as well as the whimsical ornate Castle and Mountain Lake Romantic period, 1835-1870. Many potters did not sign maker name or even Country of origin before 1891. Unsigned antique items are valued for their warmth, charm, individuality and decorative elements. Great Oriental influence and naturalistic themes prevailed in brown transferware, blue transferware, red, pink transferware, cinnabar brick red transferware, black, green and purple transfer decorated ware on dinner plates, butter pats, Platters, Bowls for soup and serving, Tureens or Covered Serving Bowls, Platters of every size and artistry have value, usefulness and lasting decorative merit for our Twentieth Century snug havens!
