Should I Use Frontline Top Spot or Frontline Plus ?

Frontline Top Spot and Frontline Plus are both produced by Merial. The question is which product is the best? Frontline Plus is generally more expensive. Does the extra expense and the addition of the word "plus" make it the better product? Absolutely not ! Actually both products are excellent products. Both products are identical in control of adult fleas and ticks. Frontline Plus contains a growth regulator to help eliminate the immature fleas. Remember only 1% of the flea population are adult fleas. The remaining 99% are in the developing stages. So when should I pay extra for Frontline Plus?

I recommend using Frontline when:

1. 
   
   Ticks are my primary concern.



2. 
   
   I do not have a flea problem but want to kill any fleas my pet may pick up.

I recommend using Frontline Plus when :

1. 
   
   You have a major flea problem, which is out of control.



2. 
   
   When you like Frontline Plus and don't mind spending extra money.

I switch to Frontline Top Spot after 6 months of Frontline Plus, once my flea population is under control.
